Internal prototype · Commitment Mode v0.1

One task. One concrete next action.

Describe one ordinary, low-stakes task. Breakr proposes one action designed to change the task's visible state, plus a clear “Done when” condition.

If you choose, you can shield up to three apps you selected. Shielding is off by default, and you can start or continue without it.

One card at a time

  1. 1.Describe the task

Enter one ordinary, low-stakes task without names, passwords, or private details.

  2. 2.Get one step

Breakr shows one concrete action and one observable “Done when” condition.

  3. 3.Choose whether to shield

Review up to three individual apps you selected. Start with shielding or start without it.

  4. 4.Stay in control

Mark the step done, make it smaller once, end the session, or use the shield’s Stop control.

Shielding is optional

Breakr does not select apps for you. Shielding starts only when you turn it on and confirm your selection for that session.

  • Choose up to three individual apps.
  • Start every step without shielding if you prefer.
  • Every shield includes a “Stop shielding” control that never marks the step done.
  • Change or clear app selections. After Breakr closes, choose again.
  • No categories, websites, countdown, streak, or penalty.

Shielding has no timer and may continue after you leave Breakr. Use Stop shielding on a shielded app, mark the step done, or end the session to ask Breakr to release it.

Designed with narrow data boundaries

Task text is used for the current session and is not designed to become task history. After Breakr closes, choose apps again before shielding. Keyboard, device, and Apple system behavior remain subject to iOS.

Designed for different ways of using iPhone

The prototype is designed to use explicit card states, readable labels, large tap targets, and alternatives to gesture, motion, sound, and haptics. VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Increase Contrast, Differentiate Without Color, and Reduce Motion are part of qualification.

Signed physical-iPhone accessibility qualification is still in progress.

An unvalidated product hypothesis

Commitment Mode v0.1 is research-informed and still being tested. It is not therapy, medical care, an ADHD coach, crisis support, or proof of improved focus, productivity, or task completion.

Step creation and shielding depend on supported Apple capabilities, device eligibility, permissions, and successful setup. If a required capability is unavailable, the prototype is designed to keep shielding off and provide a clear exit.

Product updates only. Commitment Mode v0.1 is not available for public use.
